The Truth Will Save Us

It has been on my heart for some time now to really find the truth when it comes to abortion.  I've been following a variety of pro-life media for a long time and I was beginning to get confused, discouraged, and overwhelmed.  Both sides of the debate are so understandably passionate about the topic and their side of it......that sometimes the facts, especially the way the facts are presented, can feel exaggerated and manipulative from both sides

But today… I am seeing clearly.  What a blessing.  Let me explain....

A few months ago I saw this incredible YouTube video of a woman who was once homeless, on drugs, worked at Planned Parenthood, had three abortions herself and now is a Pro-life leader.  It was so powerful!!    Here is the link     Patricia Sandoval moving story  

  

  

Then last week I had the opportunity to watch the movie “Unplanned”.  A movie about a former abortion worker named Abby Johnson who is now also a pro-life leader.  Check it out if you haven't yet!  It is still in the theaters.  Unplanned Movie Tickets   It is amazing & everyone needs to see this!!!    Unplanned Movie Review

In addition to these I have also been doing a fair amount of searching around on google.  There are so many stories out there.  With somewhere around 1 in 4 or 5 women under the age of 45 having an abortion themselves..MANY people in this country have had abortion touch their lives in some way.  I started to listen to their stories.  Some of them were women who have had abortions themselves- some regretted it, some did not, some were former abortion workers or managers, some were abortion survivors, and some were former abortionists.  This one especially left an impression on me and broke my heart.  

And finally today God put it all together for me in such a beautiful way.

The video of Patricia Sandoval has been on my mind and it happened to come across my path again today.  As soon as I saw it I was immediately reminded of a bible reading from this morning -daily Mass readings for 4-8-2019, the book of Daniel:13   You may remember the story.  It’s a really long one so let me quickly paraphrase here….. 

A beautiful young married woman named Susanna decides to bathe in her garden, she tells her maids to close the doors & gather the soaps.  They leave.  Two creepy horrible old men see this and want to take advantage of her.  They try to threaten her, trick her, and scare her so that she would “lie with” them.  She refuses and screams and the maids return.  There is eventually a trial and the two old men testify against Susanna, saying that she is lying & they are innocent.  All looks hopeless for Susanna UNTIL… Daniel, a young wise man speaks up and has an idea to get to the bottom of this and find the truth.  He tells them "Separate these two far from each other that I may examine them." He asks each of the two men what kind of tree was Susanna under when all of their claims transpired??  The details of the stories did not match and it became very clear that Susanna was telling the truth and these two men were not & rather had evil intentions.

What I’m left seeing clearly today is the truth in all of the stories that I have been listening to.  They are all telling the same story.  Each with their own unique to them details of course, but the truth of what they are each describing about abortion itself & about the abortion clinics & what is TRUTH is clearly there.  There is no self profiting agenda from the people who have "been there and back".  They simply tell their stories to help educate others to see the truth.

Here is what I am hearing from the Lord.....Listen to the women who have been there.  Their stories are the same…. They are telling the truth.

The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to take up the NRLC-backed Protect Life Act (H.R. 358) on or about Thursday, October 13, 2011. This bill would correct the numerous abortion-expanding provisions of the federal health care law ("ObamaCare") enacted in early 2010. The bill, sponsored by Congressman Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), is similar to the "Stupak-Pitts Amendment" which initially passed the House in 2009, but which was kept out of the final health care law due to opposition from pro-abortion Democratic senators and President Obama.

Oct is Respect Life Month

Did you know that October is Respect Life Month? What can you do in the month of Oct to advocate the value of Life?? It's been a while since I've updated this blog so forgive me if this is an information overloaded message. You have lots of events to choose from here! There are a number of events going on all over. - Ethical Issues in Catholic Healthcare October 22: A major conference at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, featuring Fr. Tell your Senate to Defund Planned Parenthood TODAY!

On Saturday, the House of Representatives passed a Continuing Resolution to fund the government through September.
The CR contained an amendment offered by Congressman Mike Pence of Indiana to defund Planned Parenthood. The vote on this amendment took place the day before the bill was passed.The CR now moves on to the Senate where many changes are expected. We need to make sure the Senate stands up for Life and maintains the Pence amendment in their version of the CR.
Once the CR passes the Senate, the House and Senate will go to Conference Committee to iron out the differences in the two versions. It is critical that the final CR defunds Planned Parenthood.

Contact your Member of Congress and let them know how you feel about their vote on the Pence amendment and tell them that it is critical for this amendment to be maintained in the final version of the bill. Click here to take action http://www.capwiz.com/sbalist/issues/alert/?alertid=30180541
This is a black and white issue and we must accept nothing less than the total defunding of Planned Parenthood in the Continuing Resolution.
